Vegetarian Chili

Chef Jason Hill of www.CookingSessions.com and the Chef Tips app on iTunes shares his best vegetarian chili recipe in this episode of “Chef Tips.” Vegetarian recipes are popular for their health benefits. This vegetarian chili is full of flavor and perfect for a party. Chef Jason Hill of Chef Tips explains how to make it.

1 green pepper, seeded and chopped 1 cup onions, chopped 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 Tablespoon Oil 1 lb. stew meat (cut into 1/2 inch pieces) 3 T. Flour 2 T. Oil 2 28oz. cans whole tomatoes (drained and cut into 1/4′s) 3 16oz. cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed 1 8oz. can tomatoe sauce 1 -2 T Chili powder 2 teaspoons salt Coat stew meat with flour. Cook veggies in oil for 5 mins. Remove veggies and add coated stew meat and brown in 2 T. oil. Add rest of ingredients and heat until boiling, reduce heat and simmer until meat is tender. About 2 hours. If using a I cook the veggies and brown the meat put in the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients and cook lower for 6 hours or until meat is very tender. Serve over rice or tortilla chips. Enjoy.

    who thinks vegetarian meals are boring besides little kids? mac and cheese, cheese pizza, veggie wraps, veggie lasagna, bean taco, spaghetti, ramen, rice ball, bean burrito bowl, a good salad, cheddar grilled cheese sandwich coffee

    Yes, but sautee’ the veggies before putting them in the crock pot!

    Squash in chili is gross. Meaty texture without using a soy product = lentils! Also, where are the black beans?

    This sounds great but I can’t have beans due to them being broken down into uric acid. Seems like I’m just doomed to never have chilli :(

    good recipe, i used a jar of plain pasta sauce instead of canned tomatoes and fresh beans (to avoid BPA).

    i loooove nachos and chili. melt cheese on nachos put the chili on top garnish with lettuce tomato and sour cream mmmmm mmmm good :D
