Chief Executive Chef

Scott W. Morit, Executive Chef began his culinary career in 1983 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Columbus. In 1989 he became the executive chef of the Vault Restaurant and four years later became an executive chef with the prestigious Lincoln Restaurant Group. Chef Morit returned to Columbus in 1994 to become the executive sous chef at The Worthington Inn.

In 1995 he was promoted to Executive Chef at the Worthington Inn where he remained till September 1999. The Worthington Inn was listed in the Top Ten Fine Dining during all four years of his tenure and was awarded the Mobil Four Star rating. Chef Morit has been a member of the American Culinary Federation since 1990 and is a Multi- Silver and Multi-Bronze Medalist in the ACF Tri-State Hot Food Competition. He was awarded the Chef Par Excellence at the OPPC Taste of Elegance 1998 and Placed 4th in the National Pork Producers Council Taste of Elegance Competition

Chef Morit has often been the featured chef on WTVN channel 6, appearing regularly in their “Columbus Cooks” and “Out to Lunch” segments.  He participates in many other Columbus community and charitable events.  Since joining forces with Shane’s in 1998 he has remained active with the apprenticeship program at Columbus State. Always an advocate of passing on his trade, he works closely with Pennsylvania Culinary Institute employing as many as 30 students each year to exclusively cater The Memorial Golf Tournament.
